Rostrevor and Belleek Shows

Happy New Year to all our friends far and near

There's already a litte stretch in the evenings here in Co Down and there's a fresh energy around to get things moving for the New Year. I hope you and yours weren't affected by all the recent bad weather - particularly closer to home across Ireland and the North of England and into Scotland.   I cannot imagine how terrible it would be to have your home flooded. Thankfully we got off very lightly this year but we're all very glad to see some blue skies and no rain for a while.

Tom and I are heading to Australia towards the end of February - for some concerts, a festival and to spend time with family and friends.  It's our first time to go to the southern Hemisphere and we're really looking forward to the trip.  We'll be stopping off in Dubai for a few days on the way - the thought of sunshine is making my heart burst at the minute.

Before we go we have two lovely concerts at home - at both homes - Belleek and Rostrevor

Friday 12th February, 9pm

The Jolly Farmer, Clyhore, Belleek, Co. Fermanagh (The Jolly Farmer is actually across the bridge in Belleek in Co. Donegal - so it's a cross border gig, literally)

This concert is in aid of our friend Peter McMahon's charity trip to Africa later this year with Niall Mellon Educate, where he and more than 200 other volunteers will be building a new school in the Townships in South Africa.

Saturday 13th February, 8pm

An Cuan, Rostrevor

This concert is to raise funds for the Southern Area Hospice where our friend Bronagh from my singer's group passed away last Spring.

At both events, to boost the fund raising, we'll be holding a raffle.   If you are close at hand and would like to donate something for the raffle, we'd be very grateful.

We'll then be at the following places in Australia from the 3rd March.

Melbourne, Berwick, Warragul, Canberra, Penrith, Wollongong, Sydney, Tullamore, Bowral, Brisbane.  All dates are now on the website and any additions to the trip will be added there as we go along.

We will also be doing workshops in Newport, VIC and for some choirs in the North Fitzroy area of Melbourne.

So that's our first part of the year.

Singing groups start back on Wednesday 13th at 7.30pm in An Cuan in Rostrevor and then in Bryansford on Monday night.   Email me if you would like details for either group.

I wish you a wonderful New Year

Best wishes to you all

Fil and Tom
